Emmy 2017: “The Handmaid’s Tale” và “Big Little Lies” đại thắng

Không phải “Westworld”, “Stranger Things” hay “This Is US” mà “The Handmaid’s Tale” của đài Hulu mới là cái tên toả sáng tại lễ trao giải Emmy năm nay.

Lễ trao giải Emmy lần thứ 69 vừa kết thúc với thắng lợi lớn dành cho các phim truyền hình The Handmaid’s Tale, Big Little Lies, Atlanta và Veep.

The Handmaid’s Tale – tên tuổi lớn đầu tiên của đài Hulu đã mang về 6 giải Emmy danh giá, bao gồm cả Series Chính kịch và Nữ chính xuất sắc nhất. Big Little Lies đánh bại đối thủ nặng ký Feud: Betty and Joan của Ryan Murphy để lên ngôi với 5 giải tại hạng mục dành cho Series Ngắn.

Westworld - phim truyền hình giả tưởng của đài HBO dẫn đầu với 22 đề cử chỉ chiến thắng ở một vài hạng mục phụ được trao trước đó nhưng ra về trắng tay tại đêm trao giải.

Emmy năm nay cũng đánh dấu ba chiến thắng quan trọng dành cho các diễn viên và nhà làm phim da màu: biên kịch của loạt phim hài Master of None Lena Waithe thắng giải kịch bản xuất sắc; diễn viên – nhà sản xuất trẻ tài năng Donald Glover thắng giải đạo diễn cho series Atlanta và Sterling K. Brown trở thành Nam chính xuất sắc hạng mục Series Chính kịch – chiến thắng đầu tiên kể từ Andre Braugher trong phim Homicide: Life on the Street (1998).

Nữ diễn viên kỳ cựu Julia Louis-Dreyfus chứng tỏ mình vẫn chưa có đối thủ xứng tầm ở hạng mục phim hài khi năm thứ sáu liên tiếp đăng quang tại Emmy. Trong khi đó, Elisabeth Moss lần đầu chiến thắng với vai diễn xuất sắc trong The Handmaid’s Tale. Trước đó, cô từng 6 lần được để cử cho các phim Top of the Lake và Mad Men.

Game of Thrones – series thống trị hai mùa giải gần đây, vắng mặt năm nay vì dời lịch phát sóng.
